Founded in 2012 Steamer Consulting is dedicated to providing professional archival research to Canadians with an interest in their history and their future. Steamer Consulting is based in Ottawa. 

Our professionals have more than fifty years experience in archival research. We specialize in business and economic history with an emphasis on maritime studies. We have conducted research in more than forty archives and libraries on three continents. Our specialists have presented papers and published in refereed journals worldwide with subjects ranging from business and maritime history to archival theory.

Staff members are currently building The Canadian Great Lakes Shipping Database which when completed will provide the basic tools for understanding the development of Canadian shipping during the twentieth century.
